On September 15, 2026, I spoke at a Warren County Board of Supervisors public hearing in support of leasing county-owned space at the Front Royal–Warren County Airport to Skydive Front Royal for $700 per month.
My comments were brief. I couldn’t hear much of the presentation from where I was sitting, but I had read the meeting packet and wanted the Board to hear why I supported the lease.
Skydive Front Royal gives people a reason to visit Warren County and an experience they’re eager to share. Many of us know someone who has made a jump, posted the video on Facebook, and shown friends a view of our area they might never have seen otherwise. That kind of word of mouth brings attention to both the airport and the community around it.
I was glad to speak up for a local business that adds something memorable to Warren County. The Board approved the lease.
You can watch the full September 15 Board meeting in the county’s video archive.

Public Works Director: …questions. Sorry.
Lewis Moten: Good evening, my name is Lewis Moten, from the North River District. I couldn’t hear a word he said, but I had the packet. I just want to give my support for this company because it’s something I think a lot of us have heard of. It brings in the tourist and I think most people already have a friend or two who have actually experienced it, posted videos on Facebook and it’s a great way to get more eyes on this location. So, thank you.
Chair: Thank you.
