Richard Jamieson: Materials for Our Data Review Discussion

I’ve been submitting reports to the county regarding issues I have identified in reports reviewed by the Warren County Finance Audit Committee (WCFAC). At the end of the December WCFAC meeting, Supervisor Jamieson (the chair of the WCFAC) expressed his interest in the tools that I’ve been using to review the data. Here is my email sent a few hours later.

Hello Lewis,

Sorry for the late reply.
That’s a lot of impressive work indeed.

Have you looked into using any Zapier tools for automation? Is your data intake process repeatable at this point and do you plan to perform this analysis on a rolling basis?

What I’m curious about is how you generated the list of observations in your report. Was it by running your reporting tool and examining results? Or is there any pattern and/or exception recognition tooling?

On the subject of transparency, what do you think of the policy adopted 3 to 2?.

You were one of about 3 people to witness it. I suspect it will be reversed on 1/8?

Regards,

Rich
