Warren County supervisors OK short-term rentals

In an article on the approval of several short-term rental permits, I’m referenced during public hearings raising concerns about how Warren County’s tourist-rental ordinance is applied. I questioned the lack of a clear, transparent rubric, noting that vague standards make approvals unpredictable and can create the appearance of favoritism. I also highlighted how the industry has shifted from homeowners renting spare rooms to full-home rentals operating like hotels, without comparable transparency around revenue, taxes, or impacts on housing affordability and county resources. One supervisor publicly acknowledged that these were valid points and suggested the board revisit the issue.
