I believe I purchased this double-ended rattle at my local Target store in early December 2025. There were a variety of small Christmas-themed music instruments. It was unique enough that I decided it was a sound investment for little cost.

Many of the smaller instruments I use to play with my dogs and see how they react to new sounds. There isn’t much of a tune that you can play with rattles other than a background rhythm to accompany music. You can hold one end so that it pivots rather than shakes in your hand to reduce the amount of noise that it makes, but both ends have the same sound. The double-ended rattle simply amplifies the sound

This is probably good for a toddler’s first instrument rather than banging pots together in the kitchen.
