A Place to Take Root: Joining First Baptist Church

On November 16, 2025, I experienced a gentle but unmistakable shift in my spiritual journey. After attending services for several weeks and settling into the rhythm of the community, I officially joined First Baptist Church.

Each Sunday leading up to that day had felt like a genuine welcome—never forced, always open. My conversations with Pastor Michael Williams confirmed what I had been feeling in the pews: I was in a place where my faith could take root in new, meaningful ways.

A Grounded Decision

When I stepped forward to join the church, it wasn’t for the sake of drama or impulse. It was simple, peaceful, and deeply grounding. It was the culmination of months of reflection and quiet searching.

First Baptist offered something I had been hoping to find—a place where I could bring my whole self, serve alongside others, and be part of a community that reflects the values I strive to live by every day. While leaving a former church is rarely an easy process, stepping into this new chapter felt like an act of intention and renewed hope.

A Warm Welcome

The prayers spoken over me and the warm greetings that followed made it clear that this congregation was ready to walk beside me, not just during the Sunday service, but in the everyday moments where faith meets life.

Pastor Williams shared a few words that morning that captured the organic way this connection formed:

“Lewie is a dear friend of mine from the community, very involved in a lot of things going on. Very active in a lot of the positive things going on in town and Warren County, and I invited Lewie a few weeks ago. He actually came to my installation, and that meant a lot to me. We started chatting. He came last week. We chatted some more, and Lewie has asked to join our church.”

Walking Together

What stood out most to me that morning was the sense of belonging that settled in almost immediately. It reminded me that faith is rarely a solo journey; it thrives when we find a community that encourages us to grow.

Joining First Baptist wasn’t just a formality—it was an acceptance of an invitation to be part of something larger than myself. I am grateful for the warm hands and kind hearts that have welcomed me home, and I look forward to the path ahead as we serve our community together.
