Today, something wonderful (and delightfully tiny in spirit) became official. My beloved dog Teddy has been formally recognized as a Sacred Companion and Ordained Minister of the Church of Gnome. Ordained on April 1, 2025 — a date perfectly suited for whimsy, wonder, and gentle mischief — Teddy is now spiritually acknowledged for what he’s always been in our lives: a steady source of joy, comfort, humor, and unexpected wisdom.
The Church of Gnome celebrates humble magic, kindness, loyalty, and the gentle presence of beings who make the world better simply by existing. Teddy fits that description flawlessly. Whether he’s offering quiet companionship, lending emotional support, or simply reminding us to notice the small good things in everyday life, he embodies the spirit of this little gnome-hearted ministry.
