Title: Service Volunteer
Volunteer: April 2022 to Present (monthly)

Throughout the year, I assist with meal preparation and have the privilege of serving our seniors at the Warren County Senior Center. It is rewarding to see the anticipation and enjoyment seniors bring to shared mealtime. The atmosphere is often lively; I make a point of visiting different tables, sitting and talking with residents, hearing their stories, calling bingo numbers, and sharing interesting facts to spark conversation. A senior often asks about a member of the Board of Supervisors, and I’ve reached out to encourage a visit whenever possible.

I also organized a craft activity by bringing ceramic bowls from Explore Art & Clay for the seniors to paint for the Empty Soup Bowl event. They enjoyed it so much that I returned a few days later to give them more time to finish their bowls.
The center frequently welcomes visits from town council members, county supervisors, the sheriff’s office, and other local officials. Holidays such as Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Easter are particularly special, and Christmas celebrations can get exuberant-but always in good spirits.
Community Advocacy & Safety
- Raised safety concerns regarding hazardous flooring conditions in the county-owned facility, leading to expedited repairs.
- Assisted during a medical emergency, helping maintain safety and dignity until paramedics arrived.
Masonic Affiliation
This service is performed as part of a recurring community outreach effort coordinated through a local Masonic lodge. Monthly visits focus on providing consistent presence, assistance, and companionship to seniors at the center.
