This ARPC presentation looked at voice communication options for distributed programming teams. The goal was to support pair communication, room-wide conversation, and separate conversations that would not interrupt one another while still keeping the system fast, usable, secure, and affordable.
The slides compare voice server options such as Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, Mumble, and Mohawk. Although brief, the presentation captures a practical problem from collaborative development work: how to make remote or distributed teams feel connected without turning communication into a distraction.
