When HTTP first came to the grid, one of my little ideas was to create an object that would let me twitter from within Second Life without using a 3rd party proxy. I failed at the part of authentication. The Twitter API only accepts basic authentication, and the LSL scripting language didn't offer that ability. Today I tried it out once more and found that the Mono version of the code does support basic authentication. If I hang out on a parcel for more than 10 minutes, I now have an object that updates my twitter status with a slurl for others to find me.
