Because people spend with Lindens rather then hard currency, gambling is pretty much legal within Second Life and accounts for roughly 90% of all transactions. At the end of the day, we are able to cash in our winnings in exchange for US currency. A.M. Sports Bets has taken it to the next level. Now you can bet on real sporting events outside of SL up to 15,000 L$ (about 55 US$). It is an interesting concept. A lot of work has been thought out with the bookies place of business and it isn't plagued with heavy lag and zombies. I'm tempted to try it out, but I am clueless when it comes to sports.
