Summary
In this twenty-third Dreamy Audio entry, Lewis Moten describes a surreal ascent and anticlimax: launching in a rocket off an island-Florida, shedding stages, then parachuting straight through a domed stadium roof to land mid–baseball game as if it were scripted entertainment. Applause follows, the parachute is neatly packed away, and the extraordinary instantly becomes routine.
The dream drifts into quiet absurdity beneath the stadium, where access to power feels oddly casual. A brief, baffling encounter with the President—reduced to pleasantries and an invitation to “visit sometime”—leads to confusion about titles, shared graduating classes, age, and body size. Awe dissolves into small talk, leaving accomplishment strangely unacknowledged.

So as I was going up in a rocket ship, all the different stages were coming off. The booster rocket and everything else. And it was off the coast of Florida. Apparently Florida was an island. And suddenly I was in a parachute coming down. It turns out I was heading towards a dome. I went through the top of the dome in the middle, parachute opening everything, and landed right in the middle of a baseball game. Everybody’s standing up and clapping like it’s part of the show.
One of the guys who wrapped up my parachute is in a white bag and handed it to me. And then we walked off the field. We were walking around in the stadium area under the seats. We were walking towards the President of the United States. Someone that we passed made a comment as if the President wouldn’t even see them. Like it was hard to go and see them.
And they had planned to go see them already. There’s someone by the door that waves us in. And then a woman just says something about having to go and visit her sometime. And then she just leaves. Turns out that this was the President of the United States. I turned to the person that came with me and asked kind of like, What?
That’s it? Do you know how time to talk? You know, I’m from NASA. I just landed through the roof in the middle of a baseball game. And they just told me to come and visit them. So I start to look out. Before I do, somebody asked me why she called me a doctor. I was like, why is it to you?
Why does it matter? He just asked me why. I said because I’m a doctor. He asked what class I graduated in. I don’t remember telling him what year, but I did tell him. And he pretty much said, well, this is the same class as the President graduated. And I was like, yeah, what’s so special about it? But apparently I had graduated.
I was a classmate of the President. Like that makes a lot of sense. But anyway, so I walk outside of the room. I’m not outside. I’m just in the hallway.
I’m just there sitting, sitting down, people walking by. So I went out. They wanted to know what year I was born in. I told them what year I was born in.
And they just said, man, you’re pretty big for your age. And then they walked away. They were all smiles and everything. They were happy. But I guess they were pretty much just saying that I was pretty fat.
