Summary
In this inaugural Dreamy Audio episode, Lewis Moten recounts a quiet, meandering dream set inside a Walmart-like discount store where abundance feels oddly provisional. Employees freely offer items that are “returned” yet perfectly usable, including a queen-size bed that’s almost—but not quite—right.
As the dream unfolds, desire gives way to restraint. Boxes of albums include duplicates and long-wanted titles, but most are left behind. One small choice stands out: a single blue-and-yellow deck of cards, taken as the dream fades, marking intention amid excess.

Last night I dreamt that I was in a discount store. Mainly it was like a Walmart. And I was walking around and I encountered an employee that pretty much had a paper in her hand for a queen size bed. And basically this paper kind of represented an item that had to be returned to the store because something was like employees weren’t allowed to have it or something was wrong with it or something. But of course the items were perfectly fine.
So just about every employee had these things and they were just distributing them or putting them out for people to take. Hers was for a queen size bed and I took it but I was kind of disappointed that it wasn’t a one size up. And all throughout the dream I was thinking it would have to be one size up to be what I’m usually looking for.
However, it’s usually a full size bed that we normally get around here that is just one size smaller than my queen size. So I think I was thinking backwards in the dream or something. But anyway, walking around the store I found a couple things. I found a box of albums and such. There were even duplicate albums in this box. There were two separate decks of playing cards I found a lot of albums that I didn’t want to bring because I had some of the albums.
But yet some of the other albums I just really really wanted so bad. But I just left it there. And then, let’s see, there were two separate decks of playing cards and I think I took one. It was like blue and yellow on the back. And that’s pretty much what I remember.
