This article reports on the first meeting of the Goal Seekers 4-H Club for the 1993–94 year, listing me as one of the club historians and my sister, Bonnie Moten, as a song leader. Our inclusion reflects shared youth leadership roles within the local 4-H program and documents another early entry in my public record during my senior year.

The Goal Seekers 4-H Club held its first meeting Sept. 20.
The meeting was brought to order by President Becky Lewis.
The 1993-94 officers are: Becky Lewis, president; Ron Wagoner, vice president; Kelli Queasenberry and Shannon Clark, secretary; Andrea Peer, treasurer; Jessica L. Hartman, reporter; Sarah Lewis, Holly Clark, Renee O ’Neil, and Michael Evans, game leaders; Bonnie Moten, Kyler Queasenberry, Carrie Pratt, Wendi Peer, Erin Wagoner, and Jessica Wolfe, song leaders; Lewis Moten and Kyler Queasenberry, historians.
It was announced that the 1993 4-H Awards Banquet was scheduled for Oct. 9 at the Fort Ashby Fairgrounds.
Seven new members were welcomed into the club, and the other members told what meant the most to them last year in 4-H.
Under old business, it was noted that the GoalSeekers 4-H Club is selling raffle tickets for a gun, with each ticket costing $1. The drawing will be held Nov. 1.
The program was presented by Mineral County 4-H Extension agent Kay Davis on choosing foods that are good to eat.
The meeting was adjourned by Melissa McKenney, seconded by Ron Wagoner.
