Being that my video card continues to crash constantly, I purchased an Nvidia card for my wife. I was choosing between the 9600 GT and 8800 GT. I just couldn't understand why a 9000 series card was much cheaper then an 8000. I plugged in some terms to google and found out that the 8800 actually performs better. (go figure) So off I went to run home and install my wifes computer with a faster card. Yay! Once she was up and running, I was able to reclaim my perfectly working old 7900 GTX. It had been mysteriously swapped previously as we both had the same exact cards. 3D programs no longer look like crazy geometry exploded.
