Perhaps the first animation I had made. I made this in 3D Studio Release 4 for my web page. It was actually ahead of its time in the way that I built it. I just wish that I still had the files somewhere that I could show off. This is all that remains of my first website.

The website was made when I was living in Moorefield, West Virginia, around 1997. It had a blue background with a noise pattern, and the round pill buttons for navigating it matched the animated GIF’s gold color. I also had what was meant to be an articulated wooden figure with the same gold effect on the website, as well as on the left of the content.
Looking at the direction the Earth is spinning, it is clear to me today that I didn’t realize that it was spinning in reverse! I used Ezgif GIF optimizer to reverse the image as well as create a square feature image for this post.
