Source Files Released
After experimenting with Microsoft Scriptlets and VBScript, I’ve decided to release the full source code for my animated experiment, ANILEWIE.SCT.

This little project layers three images — face, eyes, and mouth — and uses timers plus absolute positioning to animate them. The eyes randomly move to predefined coordinates, and the mouth toggles open and closed. All movement is handled via VBScript and simple DHTML.
It was written specifically for Internet Explorer 4+ and demonstrates:
- VBScript timers
- Randomized animation
- Z-index layering
- Dynamic positioning
- Scriptlet container behavior
Scriptlets are interesting because they run inside a sandboxed container. While they cannot directly access the parent page, they can expose properties and events for safe interaction — similar to embedded ActiveX controls. It’s a powerful concept for building reusable components on the web.
If you’re experimenting with DHTML or VBScript, feel free to download the source and take it apart.
