Leadership, Creativity, and the Joy of the Build
For me, the brick is a perfect balance between engineering and play. While I enjoy the discipline of building official sets, my true passion lies in the community and the creative “adventure” that happens when the instructions end.
This space documents my journey within the hobby—from founding and leading a local LEGO User Group (LUG) to the technical challenge of building Great Ball Contraptions (GBC). Whether I am following a master plan or designing a MOC (My Own Creation) from scratch, I focus on the personal growth, the fun of the build, and the collaborative spirit of the community.

Mastering the Language
If you’re new to the world of high-level building, here are the terms I use most:
- AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO): Those of us who never outgrew the joy of building.
- LUG (LEGO User Group): The local community groups I lead to bring builders together.
- MOC (My Own Creation): An original design built without official instructions.
- GBC (Great Ball Contraption): A collaborative mechanical “circuit” where different modules move small balls from one station to the next using complex physics and gears.
- Modding: Taking an official set or a shared plan and adding my own personal “flair” or improved engineering.
