Clown

I joined a clown club in December 11, 2024. After a couple dress-outs and appearing in parades as a hobo clown, I advanced out of the probationary status on July 9, 2025.

Character

My clown name is Leonardo, and I am a Hobo clown.

There are a few different types of clowns. The main ones being White Face, Auguste, and Tramp/Hobo. I’m a Hobo clown, most known for the white eyes and mouth for where you wipe train suite away while traveling. A Tramp and Hobo clown look very similar, but the primary difference is that a Hobo clown will take a job if available, where a Tramp avoids it. We also have a Rodeo clown in our club as well.

Magic Tricks

I know a few simple magic tricks that keep kids entertained. I can make the ink disappear on a coloring book, turn a handkerchief into different colors, make things disappear, guess a hidden die number, and more! Most of what I have is from Marvin’s Magic that often targets children who are starting to learn magic.

Juggling

I’m still working on it. I’m going through a book by Klutz. One of my dogs ate one of the balls, so I need to get another set.

Balloon Sculpting

I make balloon animals for children. Dogs are often the most requested, but I can also make rabbits, swords, and teddy bears. I’m adding more to my skillset as I learn about how to do various techniques. For now, I attend local events voluntarily.

Future

A few things I’d like to learn. Build my own organ grinder. Puppetry with marionettes, hand puppets, finger puppets, shadows, and ventriloquism.
